TOA LATEX AGENT - "EFFECTIVE ASSISTANT" IN CONCRETE BONDING AND SUPERIOR WATERPROOFING ADMIXTURE

At the end of 2021, TOA Construction Chemicals from TOA Paint Vietnam has launched TOA Latex Agent - a new “effective assistant” in concrete bonding and waterproofing with outstanding betterments.

TOA Latex Agent is a liquid bonding additive based on a synthetic styrene-butadiene latex used for adding to cement mortar to improve adhesion and highly waterproof properties. Specialize used to bonding agent between old and new concrete surfaces. TOA Latex Agent is a very useful, necessary and actively supporting product for projects.

TOA Latex Agent makes consumers’ point with the following outstanding features:

• Reducing shrinkage and cracks;
• Strengthening adhesion of old and new concrete;
• Excellent water resistance;
• Increase chemical and abrasion resistance;
• Suitable for cement mortar layers in contact with residential water;
• Especially, TOA Latex Agent not only protects the building but also contributes to environmental protection and ensures the safety of users. This product does not add APEO, formaldehyde, mercury, lead in the production process and contains low VOC content.

TOA Latex Agent is suitable for repairing damaged concrete or leveling the substrate. This product is used to increase the qualities of cement mortar such as concrete repair mortar, masonry mortar, tile fixing mortar, thin patching mortar, floor screeds.

Products are packed in plastic cans/drums with standard volumes of 2L, 5L, and 25L, making them convenient for transportation and storage. Depending on the purpose of usage and the construction area, customers can pick the most appropriate volume.

APPLICATION GUIDANCE WHEN APPLYING TOA LATEX AGENT

SURFACE PREPARATION:

- Substrate must be sound, free of loose or weak particles, dust, and dirt. Oil and wax containing layers, as well as laitance must be completely removed.

- Surface needs to be pre-wetted properly until saturated but do not allow water to stagnate during application.

- In case of mold and algae, brush and clean with TOA Microkill 113.

APPLICATION METHOD:

• Cement Bonding: Mix TOA Latex Agent: clean water: cement in the ratio 1:1:4 (by weight) to be used as a bonding agent for concrete repair.
• Waterproofing Agent: Mix (by weight) TOA Latex Agent : clean water by ratio 1:3 (1) with a mixture of cement : sand by ratio 1:3 (2). Pour (1) in (2) with the proper amount and mix until homogenous for application.

* Note:

- Do not use TOA Latex Agent as a bonding coat without adding cement and sand.

- When the plastering is completed, a proper curing method is needed.

- Multi-layers always work wet on wet.

- Clean tools with clean water after applying.

TOA Latex Agent is an additive used for many purposes, from patching small cracks to fixing or creating new concrete blocks, especially making a structure waterproof so that it can resist the ingress of water.

Using TOA Latex Agent to the foundation walls & floors, will help protect the constructions from waterproofing, contribute to an increase of the durability and aestheticism of the buildings over the years.
